7.3.1. Energy Usage per Sqm
The table below presents IGU's energy consumption intensity per square meter for different energy sources in 2025.In terms of individual energy sources, electricity consumption increased from 16,284.290 GJ in 2024 to 17,386.260 GJ in 2025, representing an increase of approximately 6.77%. In contrast, natural gas consumption decreased from 7,424.630 GJ to 7,291.420 GJ, corresponding to a decrease of approximately 1.79%. A more significant decrease was observed in diesel consumption, which declined from 901.646 GJ to 345.800 GJ, representing a decrease of approximately 61.65%. This change indicates that in 2025, energy consumption shifted further from fossil fuel-based sources toward electricity. In particular, the substantial decrease in diesel use may be associated with a reduction in diesel-related energy needs for transportation, generator use, or similar purposes compared with the previous year. The slight decrease in natural gas consumption also indicates that energy use for heating decreased to some extent compared with the previous year.
